Failure is the new success, and now it is transitioning from Hollywood to journalism.
Remember the attack on Japan’s anime and manga industry by VICE News who proclaimed it to be a hotbed of pedophilic / child abuse material?
Hanako Montgomery from VICE News went to Japan with the intention of uncovering the “pedophilic tendencies” in their manga industry. With her report expressed discomfort regarding the depictions of female anime characters on large posters, enforcing a biased narrative that Japan is a cesspit of pedophilia.
Before starting her investigation. Montgomery criticized even mild anime and manga like “In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki” and “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid,” portraying them as being harmful to real life children because of their depictions of “sexualized minors”.
The video, titled “Inside the Pedophilic Manga Industry in Japan,” was blocked from being viewed in Japan, but still managed to spark immense criticism for its biased agenda and hypocrisy, given how VICE themselves have been trying to curb stomp Japan’s alleged pedophilic industries but instead supporting the sexualization of children in the United States.
Japanese fans uncovered VICE’s efforts to obscure information, reuploaded the original video, with numerous versions featuring Japanese subtitles gaining popularity. Despite their attempts to take them down, mirrors and archive links persist, allowing Japanese viewers to access the content.
During her stay in Japan, Montgomery engaged in a conversation with mangaka who goes by Shinji, known for creating mature content featuring younger-looking high school girls, the manga that he creates is intended for an adult audience.
When questioned, Shinji emphasized that personal opinions should not influence laws regarding freedom of speech and creative expression. Montgomery inquired whether his manga could potentially harm real children, to which Shinji highlighted that no evidence has ever established such a connection.
VICE and Hanako Montgomery perceive the legal protection of fictional works like manga as a “loophole.” After obtaining one of Shinji’s books, Montgomery proceeded to meet Kazuna Kanajiri, the chief director of PAPS, an organization supporting survivors of sexual exploitation. Kanajiri shared an unconventional story from her youth involving the distribution of adult content in high school, undoubtedly Kazuna shared similar sentiment that anime / manga gives pedophiles an alternative outlet and that mature content featuring depictions of younger characters to be a violation of human rights.
Long story short, just another feminist agenda targeting fictional content with a clear bias, insulting the manga industry, mangakas themselves, misreporting the words spoken by a politician to support their agenda alongside illegally recording footage inside a store against the owners wishes. This is modern corporate journalism.
VICE’s garbage hit piece was nominated for an Emmy award several months ago, despite the fact that nobody really gives a shit about academy award ceremonies anymore, for dishonest journalism that practically shits on the whole country of Japan, this slanderous and deceitful news story won an award.
For her efforts, Hanako Montgomery won a prestigious Emmy during the 44th Academy News & Documentary awards, for her stunning and brave reporting that insulted an entire country, slandering them as producing child abuse material for pedophiles.
Montgomery argued that the Japanese laws, permitting freedom of speech and creativity, were flawed as they allowed manga artists to depict fictional underage characters. She expressed the opinion that freedom of speech can lead to victimization. With the hack journalist empathizing “hypothetical victims” over actual ones in her report.
Loli characters were singled out throughout the whole report, undoubtedly so given the west’s fixation on the supposed sexualization of minors which is why various high ranking journalists and even United Nations officials have been arrested for illicit sexual misconduct with underaged minors despite supporting the notion that Manga should be banned or that lolicon is pedophilia.
Even VICE themselves acknowledged the absence of data supporting the claims made by Montgomery that objectifying fictional characters could lead to the actual harm of children.
To support her arguments, Montgomery interviewed an individual caught attempting to sell underage content of herself and a manga artist illustrating scenarios of young girls being assaulted.
She drew parallels between these instances and works like “In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki,” a comedic series featuring young ninja girls but I much prefer Senran Kagura instead if I was being honest.
However, there exists a significant distinction in how mangaka artists portray fictional characters and Japan’s endeavors to protect actual children.
Hanako Montgomery didn’t explicitly mention “In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki” by name. However, she deliberately focused on a poster of this series during her visit to an anime convention, just as she had also done with Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. Her biased narrative didn’t go unnoticed as Soichiro Yamamoto, the creator of “In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki,” or any other widely recognized manga artists, refused to participate in the biased documentary.
Montgomery followed the path of BBC Three reporter Stacey Dooley, who, in 2017, made a similar argument during her trip to Japan, that manga featuring underage characters poses a threat to real life children. This narrative, propagated by Western media, attempts to impose Western values upon Japan, resembling a sort of reverse cultural appropriation which is immensely racist.
Hilariously enough, during her report Stacey Dooley was arrested for unauthorized filming before concluding her visit. Montgomery did the same exact thing during her report, visiting the Melon Books Akihabara store. Despite being denied permission to film, she and her cameraman chose to disrespect the store owner’s decision, surreptitiously placing a hidden camera inside and recording without consent. This is illegal.
Numerous stores and private establishments in Japan openly display signs that state “no filming”. This rule applies to both public and private spaces, emphasizing the importance of obtaining permission before capturing video footage or photographs.
Following Melon Books’ refusal, the VICE News journalist resorted to deception. Upon uncovering their shenanigans, the store shared a comparative photo to expose that filming had taken place despite their denial.
So it comes as no surprise that there was widespread shock and disgust in both Japan and the world when Hanako Montgomery’s biased hit piece received an Emmy nomination in the category of “Outstanding Arts, Culture, or Entertainment Coverage.”
During this period, she disabled replies on her Twitter and Instagram accounts. The situation took an even more surprising and unfortunate turn when Hanako Montgomery won an award for insulting an entire country and its people, as she advocated for their culture to align with Western values.
The Academy recognized her for biased reporting, filming in a store without permission, and misrepresenting a prominent politician and swiftly gave her the outstanding award for social justice and activism.
This not only reflects poorly on the Academy for rewarding a biased activist with zero journalistic integrity but also sets a precedent for others with lower ethical standards.
It’s likely that more individuals, akin to her, will emerge, masquerading as journalists while producing hit pieces. The field of journalism as a whole is all but dead now, with humanoid garbage such as Hanako Montgomery tarnishing the reputation of everyone involved. It’s a particularly damaging situation for Japan, as VICE News insulted their entire nation, legal system, and business industries, only to be recognized and rewarded for their dogshit “reporting”.
These feminists cannot differentiate between fiction and reality, they continually insult and demonize anime and manga as being pedophilic while they themselves either harbor pedophilic tendencies or simply overlook actual pedophiles in the west.
Child abuse and child phonography is among the most disgusting issues we have in the modern world, there’s no condoning such antics and those found guilty genuinely deserve to be put to death in the most merciless ways imaginable.
However, attempting to “combat” the issue of child abuse by instead targeting innocent parties such as manga artists, those who produce fiction, is neither helpful or productive. Rather it’s unethical and counterproductive.
Japan allows for a significant amount of creative freedom to artistic expression, a stance deemed unacceptable by western lunatics and censorship puritans who demand that thought crimes be severely punished.
Read whatever goddamn content you want, be happy, when dickhead feminists and corporate shills like Hanako Montgomery run their mouths and screech about censorship, tolerance and equality, don’t ignore them, call them out on their horrible bullshit.
These goddamn people proclaim to be men and women of “the people” they are supposedly journalists doing a civil duty, which in hindsight is a wonderful thing because these men and women of the people have names and addresses. They will not be silent nor will they simply back down because their agenda isn’t being forced down the throats of many with ease.
Show them how you truly “appreciate” their reporting.
